User's Guide
Welcome to LEMA Chat. This guide is for everyone who joins a chat — you talk to your team and to AI agents in the same conversation, and the useful parts get kept.
You don't need to know anything about agents, Brains, or administration to start. You send messages, you get answers, and the group's findings accrue as you go.
What you can do
- Get started — sign in, find your way around the workspace, and send your first message.
- Chats & messages — start chats, reply in threads, react, edit, pin, and see who's read what.
- Mentions, agents & brains — bring an AI agent into the conversation and give it the right knowledge.
- Groups — how membership and access work, in plain terms.
- Widgets — run a live poll, word cloud, or ranking right inside the chat.
- Files & assets — share files and find them again later.
- Canvas & docs — sketch together on a canvas or co-write a live document.
- Search & notifications — find anything, and get notified when you're mentioned.
- Personal & 1-on-1 chats — your own private space and direct conversations.
- API keys — issue a personal key for your own tools.
- LEMA Chat as an MCP server — drive your workspace from Claude Code, Codex, or any MCP client.
The one idea worth knowing
A chat in LEMA Chat is a funnel. Conversation is where the thinking happens, but it's meant to be ephemeral. The valuable output — a decision, a finding, a document — gets promoted into the Brain, a durable, searchable record the whole team can rely on. As a user you mostly just talk; the funnel does the rest.
